On 16th and 17th April the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office of UNFPA organised a Civil Society Stakeholder Consultation on the Future of the ICPD Programme of Action. Three members of EPF’s Secretariat attended, along with EPF Executive Committee member Hon. Malahat Ibrahimqizi. EPF Secretariat gave a keynote address on the opposition to the ICPD Programme of Action, and Marina Davidashvili acted as a rapporteur.

The meeting was superbly organized by UNFPA EECARO Office, and was notable for the wide range of CSO stakeholders it brought together from across society in the region in question. The meeting’s format also enabled all the participants to contribute proactively to discussions, and we await the outcome with interest.
