Global Leadership in Meeting the MDGs: Securing Reproductive Health Supplies

The IEPFPD, in collaboration with the United Nations Foundation and the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Population, Development and Reproductive Health, held an in depth presentation and discussion among global leaders on the subject of the shortages in contraceptive supplies. Chaired by the Honourable Timothy Wirth, former US Senator and head of the US delegation to Cairo in 1994, the Global Leadership Meeting heard from UNFPA Executive Director, Thoraya Obaid, IPPF Director General, Steven Sinding, PAI President Amy Coen, Susan Rich from the Wallace Global Foundation and World Bank representative Elisabeth Lule. Over 25 members of parliament, representatives from donor agencies and foundations hear concrete suggestions for addressing the growing gap in global contraceptive shortages.
